Building Better Public Transport Networks for All

5 March 2026 | 7:30AM (Guadalajara) | 8:30AM (New York City) | 10:30AM (Cascavel) | 8:30PM (Jakarta)

What makes public transport truly work for people and cities? This webinar explores the essential qualities of good public transport – frequent and reliable service, zero-emission fleets, and inclusive systems that serve everyone – drawing on the Building Better Public Transport Systems: Public Transport Principles brief recently launched by ITDP.

Using real-world examples from cities like Jakarta, Indonesia; Cascavel, Brazil; and Guadalajara, Mexico, our partners will share how targeted mobility policies and investments can turn these principles into reality for urban public transport. The session will include brief presentations followed by a roundtable discussion and Q&A. Interpretations will also be available for Spanish, Portuguese and Bahasa Indonesian.

This event is part of a two-part series on ITDP’s “Public Transport Principles,” a global framework to guide cities in strengthening transit systems and delivering sustainable, inclusive mobility. Access our recent publications at ITDP.org.
