Walkability is essential for reducing carbon emissions and providing urban access for all. Investing in pedestrian infrastructure, and anchoring it around other sustainable modes, economic activities, and services can help shift travel away from cars. What’s more, improvements in walkability can even be measured to provide practitioners, decision-makers, and financing institutions the evidence to take action to further enhance walkability in our cities.
Join our roundtable session as we discuss the measurable co-benefits of improved walkability and share insights into the initiatives, scale-up efforts, policies, and impacts occurring in several ITDP regions. We will also dive into the types of tools and assessment methodologies that can be replicated across other cities.
