Beatriz Rodrigues Public Transport and Electrification Manager, ITDP Global

Beatriz (she/her/hers pronouns) leads ITDP’s global initiatives in public transport and electrification, spearheading the development of strategies and policies. She coordinates knowledge sharing among regional offices, focusing on rapid transit, buses, electrification, paratransit, and BRT. A Brazilian native, she began her work in ITDP at our Brazil regional office in 2016 and joined the Global team in 2024. Throughout her career, Beatriz has collaborated closely with public transport stakeholders, including managers, operators, civil society organizations, the private sector, and academia. She specializes in project, strategy, and policy development for public transport, prioritizing quality, integration, inclusivity, and zero-emission systems. Beatriz also has experience in planning and coordinating capacity-building initiatives and knowledge exchanges through meetings, courses, and webinars.
Beatriz Rodrigues holds a degree in civil engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a Master’s in Transport Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ. During her master’s studies, she focused on enhancing the quality of bus public transport systems, considering the perspectives of vulnerable users, particularly caregivers and young children. Fluent in Portuguese and English, and with moderate knowledge of Spanish, Beatriz is passionate about advancing sustainable transport solutions on a global scale.

Kate McCarthy Public Outreach and Engagement Manager, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency

Kate McCarthy is a public outreach and engagement manager at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. She leads the Transit Outreach team who facilitates communications for Muni service changes and capital projects. Her team develops culturally relevant, multichannel programs aimed at informing and engaging community members in the city transportation projects that serve them including the design, construction and launch of service for San Franciso’s Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). Propelled by a commitment to social equity and a passion for transportation, Kate has been engaging the public to improve walking, bicycling and Muni service in San Francisco since 2006.

Viridiana Yelitza Delgado Yañez Executive Director of Operations and Infrastructure of Metrobús, Mexico City

Viridiana is a transportation engineer, who has earned her experience working in public and private sectors on logistics, freight transportation, and urban mobility. She has previously held various roles in the public sector as a technical support lead for sustainable urban mobility projects at the Planning Directorate of the Ministry of Mobility of Puebla; and also at the Ministry of Mobility of Mexico City, coordinating the implementation of the Integrated Mobility Card in public transportation organizations. Since 2023, she took on the role of the Executive Director of Operations and Infrastructure of Metrobús, Mexico City.
