In this 2026 STA Series webinar, ITDP will highlight our first honorable mention city, Santiago, Chile, and its progress in implementing the largest electric bus fleet in the region, with 4,400+ e-buses currently in operation. Their transition to a high-capacity, zero-emission fleet continues to help Santiago reduce air and noise pollution, mitigate harmful emissions, enhance ridership, and save substantially on fuel and energy costs.
This session will provide an overview of Santiago’s policies and investments as it aims to achieve a 100% electric bus fleet, complemented by crucial efforts to expand charging infrastructure and reshape transport integration. In addition, representatives from the CAF Development Bank will share their strategies for financing electromobility on a regional level. Join us to learn how STA cities like Santiago are advancing well-funded, well-managed, and sustainable public transport, becoming a role model for others worldwide.
