Integrated, Accessible Transport Across Mexico City

Tuesday, 18 November 2025 || 6PM-7PM EST (5PM-6PM Mexico)

Join us as we spotlight Mexico City, recipient of the 2025 Sustainable Transport Award Honorable Mention, and its commitment to expanding public transport to reduce congestion, improve air quality, and support mobility for all. Over the past year, the city and the Metrobús bus rapid transit (BRT) authority have made strides to electrify and upgrade public bus fleets, helping to expand access, enhance rider experience, and improve BRT integration. Efforts to further expand and connect the city’s Cablebús, Trolebus, Metro and Light Rail systems are also notable. In addition, a focus on cycling connectivity and road safety is making multi-modal mobility more convenient and appealing to more people.

Learn how these efforts are helping build sustainable, equitable transport systems across Mexico’s largest city. Interpretations between English and Spanish will be available. ITDP’s 2025 STA Spotlight report on Mexico City will also be published in tandem with this session.
