ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Rebecca Bassi

Program Assistant

Rebecca Bassi is a master’s student in Urban and Regional Planning at the Institute of Research and Urban and Regional Planning of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IPPUR/UFRJ), where she also holds a degree in Social Sciences. She works at ITDP as Program Assistant. 

Her master’s thesis investigates the challenges and necessary conditions for implementing electric bus fleets in Brazilian cities, focusing on the New Growth Acceleration Program (Novo PAC). Additionally, she has experience in urban sociology, public policies, urban mobility, and energy transition, and is affiliated with the Research Group City, Law, and Mobility (CiDMobi). 

Before joining ITDP, she worked as an intern in environmental responsibility and indicator management at Portos Rio, where she was responsible for preparing socio-environmental reports, managing solid waste, and monitoring the indicators of the four ports in Rio de Janeiro.
