ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

André Mello

Policy and Climate Change Assistant
André Mello joined ITDP in July 2024 as a policy and climate change assistant. He is currently a Master’s degree student in Urban and Regional Planning at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IPPUR/UFRJ). Also, he is a postgraduate in Urban Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and graduated in Environmental Science from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF).
Between August 2023 and June 2024, André served as Network Management Coordinator in the Planning Undersecretariat at the Municipal Secretariat of Transportation of Rio de Janeiro City, where he worked for 3 years. He contributed to various technological, operational, and procedural modernization initiatives, and participated in implementing and operating major projects aimed at enhancing urban mobility in Rio de Janeiro.
He volunteered in 2018 for an internship program at ITDP Brazil, assisting in data compilation and processing for the MobiliDADOS platform. Subsequently, worked as a consultant for the institution until 2021, involved in creating thematic maps and contributing to analyses of sustainable urban mobility.
