ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Latin America Director

Bernardo has developed his professional career at ITDP since 2006 increasing urban accessibility in different cities in Latin America mainly through projects to improve Pedestrian and Cyclist Infrastructure, Bike Sharing, Road Safety, Mass transit and Parking Management. To achieve this, he has worked with diverse stakeholders such as governments, NGOs, Multilaterals and Private Sector in the development and execution of policies, projects, reports and events. He holds a Master’s degree in Transport Engineering from IHE-TU in Delft, The Netherlands, and another in Management and Implementation of Development Projects from UMIST in Manchester, United Kingdom. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He currently teaches at the “Urbanism” postgraduate at the UNAM University and the “Master in Cities” at the Centro University in Mexico City.
