ITDP is a nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with offices in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, and the United States. ITDP’s programs focus on public transport, non-motorized transport, travel demand management, parking, transport policy, and urban development.

Alphonse Tam

Global Communications Manager

Alphonse (he/him/his) is a Global Communications Manager with ITDP’s headquarters based in New York City. He is responsible for communications strategy, content creation, research, and media relations working alongside ITDP’s program teams. In his role, Alphonse works closely with US and regional offices to develop content and campaigns that promote ITDP’s knowledge products and on-the-ground work to a wide array of audiences.

Alphonse joined ITDP in 2022. Before this, he worked with cross-sector nonprofits and NGOs in marketing, communications, fundraising, and partnership development capacities. Alphonse holds an MSc in Urbanization and Development from the London School of Economics and a BA in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a native of Philadelphia and enjoys running, cycling, reading, and exploring new neighborhoods in his free time.
