Aileen Carrigan
U.S. BRT Consultant
Aileen Carrigan is a consultant with ITDP’s US Program. Her research and consulting work focus on the design, implementation, and impacts of bus rapid transit. In 2008 she supported the implementation of Johannesburg’s Rea Vaya BRT, and subsequently studied global experience with BRT as a senior associate at the World Resources Institute. Aileen has co-authored research on the political and technical challenges of BRT implementation; as well as the social, environmental, and economic impacts of BRT. She holds a master’s degree in urban planning and bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
