About the Series

This two-part webinar series, based on the release of From Santiago to Shenzhen: How Electric Buses are Moving Cities report created by ITDP, examines the electrification of public bus systems, with the primary goal of decreasing carbon emissions from the transportation sector over the next decade. The How Electric Buses are Moving Cities series sheds light on how cities worldwide are embracing and deploying electric buses.

About the Webinar

The From Santiago to Shenzhen report focuses on the development and implementation of Battery electric buses (BEBs) and details the steps cities must take to electrify their bus fleet, with recommendations on a variety of elements which includes bus route planning to maximize battery life; finance models for upfront investment; charging infrastructure; supporting policies to be considered by city governments.

Presenters from Brazil and Mexico will discuss research and real-world examples of how cities are attempting to electrify bus fleets that will help cut emissions from the transportation sector, improve air quality, decrease noise pollution, and reduce resource usage.

This webinar will feature live translations in Portuguese and Spanish.
