Tianjin, the recipient of the 2024 Sustainable Transport Award (STA), has achieved a remarkable transformation in its urban mobility. The city upgraded over 190 roads, revitalized its biking and walking infrastructure, and improved the integration of metro stations with non-motorized transport (NMT). These efforts have collectively led to an additional 150,000 daily walking and biking trips, an increase in 175,000 daily metro riders, and significant improvements in both road safety and air quality.
