Simone Costa Rodrigues da Silva
Chief of Sustainable Urban Mobility Fund, Municipal Department of Transport, City of Rio de Janeiro
Simone has been a public servant of the City of Rio de Janeiro since 2008. From 2011 to 2016, she worked on transport projects that reshaped the city transit network. She also coordinated the Sustainable Mobility Plan and the successful Transport Plan for RIO2016 Olympics and Paralympic Games. From 2017 to 2020, she changed the focus towards pedestrian and cycle-oriented projects and policies, mobility data and low carbon transport. In 2021, she was the CEO of the Traffic Engineering company of the City of Rio de Janeiro. Currently is the Chief of Sustainable Mobility Fund. She earned her master’s degree in Transport Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
