That’s how long ITDP has been awarded four out of four stars by Charity Navigator, the country’s largest and most-used charity evaluator, putting us in the top 2% of all charities evaluated. ITDP earned a score of 96.57 out of 100, an increase from last year’s rating. A four star rating says that ITDP “exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its Cause”, and is an indication of our financial health, accountability, and transparency as a leading nonprofit.

Charity Navigator exists to help donors make financially informed decisions when it comes to their giving priorities, using data-driven evaluation methods praised by Forbes Magazine, Business Week, and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine. They use a rating system that examines two broad areas of an organization’s performance:

1) Financial Health and 2) Accountability and Transparency.

Their evaluations look at how effectively an organization uses funds, and in turn assures donors that their support is being used wisely. Charity Navigator estimates that they influence approximately $10 billion dollars a year in charitable gifts.
