For the sixth consecutive year, ITDP has received four out of four stars by Charity Navigator, the country’s largest and most-used charity evaluator. Charity Navigator helps donors make financially informed decisions when it comes to their giving priorities, using data-driven evaluation methods praised by Forbes Magazine, Business Week, and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine. ITDP earned 65.35 out of 70 points, or 4/4 stars, demonstrating strong financial health, accountability and transparency in our work.
Charity Navigator uses a rating system that examines two broad areas of an organization’s performance: 1) Financial Health and 2) Accountability and Transparency. Their evaluations look at how effectively an organization uses funds, and in turn assures donors that their support is being used wisely. Charity Navigator estimates that they influence approximately $10 billion dollars a year in charitable gifts.
The 4 out of 4 rating demonstrates ITDP’s “exceptional” practices at non-profit management and openness. The evaluation shows that ITDP exceeds industry standards on good governance and donor relations, and has systems in place to minimize vulnerabilities to unethical practices or irresponsible activities. We are proud to spend more that 90% of our funds directly on programs, and provide open access to all of Charity Navigator’s Accountability & Transparency Performance Metrics.
Only 3% of Charity Navigator’s evaluated charities have received a four star rating for six consecutive years. This is an exceptional acknowledgement and ITDP is happy to share the good news.
We at ITDP we are grateful for the support of our partners and donors, and will continue to earn your confidence in our organization. Thank you for your dedication to improving mobility and access to sustainable transport for millions of people around the world.
